I've read the various threads about the price increases... but what does your Wal-Mart charge now, for the fabrics that we probably are all familiar with? Such as the VIP/Cranston ones that have been around "forever", or the ones by Fabric Traditions or Springs?

I'm not particularly asking about the seasonal / special purchase ones that they get once only, rather the ones that they "always" have.

Around here (western NY) they had gone from 3.96 / yard to 4.40 / yard and then the fabric departments disappeared.

Their most expensive cottons used to be $4.44, now they're at just under $5/yd, 4.96 I think I saw the last time I checked.

I just bought some really nice stuff the other night! Its a nice weight, and they had several bird pattern that were really cute.... I think it was 4.99 a yard, cant find my receipt now of course. It was right under 5.00 anyhow. I'm in WI,if that makes a diffrence. They had cheaper stuff too, but I didnt have much money so I only bought the bird stuff!

The most expensive i noticed are a tad over $4 but there are tons from $2.44 to 3.97 that are popular & very nice. Have already shut down one on other side of town from me and mine says eventually ours will closed but not for awhile.

$4.44 to $4.96 out here now. There was one small group (Maybe the monthly collection?) that was $5.96.

Ours stopped selling about a year ago.
But they were the cheapest around.
Some are complaining they would never pay $5/yd for fabric
Well with most stores selling for an average of $9-$12/yd
once your stash is gone you may not be sewing!
