I bought a wonderful find of fabric at a Thrift Store and was sooo excited. My DH's comment was, "Where are we going to store all of this stuff?" So, I guess they tolerate my latest hobby, although my DH did make one of those wooden covers that goes over my ironing board...it is GREAT! Those of you with supportive spouses, count your blessings and appreciate them...

My MIL just never seemed to have anything nice to say about my DH or me until I made her two quilts. The labels said material paid for by her #2 son, sewn by her #1 DIL, and given with our LOVE. She would show those quilts to everybody, and tell them how tickled she was that we did that for her. I really think it was the labels that made her the happiest. LOL

My mom would say I'm nuts. My dad would have said I'll never be amy good at it. My brothers probably wouldn't say anything at all. Now, my boyfriend and his family think I'm pretty talented and enjoy seeing my work. My work family loves my work and are always wanting to see what I've been working on. I love that I can choose my family now!

They may not all understand the enjoyment I get out of making quilts, but they all are very supportive and appreciative of my quilts :D:D:D

DH would say the same whatever hobby or job I was into. If I'm happy he's happy. The kids have learned it doesn't matter what they think about it.

It just made me curious to wonder.....what do you think your family says about your quilting when you aren't there??
My guess is that I get a cussing since I'm not spending my time cleaning the house

Every Christmas at my house I give all the quilts I have made during the year away. All my family loves the quilts, and this past Christmas one of the boyfriends chimed in how much he liked the quilts. Yes, he got one. My son used to go to Quilt shows and critique the quilts and always said "not as good as Mom's) lOl, I now have a DD and DIL quilting with me once a week. My husband has been my biggest enabler, so yes, I have a loving happy family.
