    Default What Else Is There?

My computer will not accept updates for Electric Quilt. Someone was talking about other programs a few years ago, and I'm thinking I might try another brand. Can anyone tell the names of these other companies? I may like to look into them.

Quilt Pro is an alternative. Quiltpro.com A couple of years ago it was available for half price on Black Friday.

Electric Quilt also offers a mini version that is upgradeable to EQ8.

I'd hate to see you spend $ on another Quilt software package and find out you can't load it either. so a few questions:

    1) Do you know why won't your computer accept updates for EQ?

    2) Did you call EQ about your difficulty loading updates on your computer? What was their response?

    3) Does your computer accept updates for other software?

    Hi Cathy,
Jim says that because we have Windows 8.1, that is why the EQ is having headaches. EQ5 is not designed for this system.

I'm a Mac user and have had Quilt Pro for at least 20 years. It does not work for me. I just get so frustrated. Perhaps it's me.

It's entirely possible you won't be able to load any new software on your computer. Some software requires 64-bit encryption, and I believe 8.1 is only 32. Check the minimum requirements on any software you're considering before you purchase.

Wait--do you currently have EQ5 and trying to update? Don't think you can update other than 6 or 7 to 8 now. But call EQ--they are always really helpful.
