Default What is everyone working on?

I am getting the blocks done for a quilt. Love the fabrics! Then I played again with free motion! I got bummed out when play time was over cause I just had to get these blocks pieced! Taking that darning foot off is always hard for me lol! But I will have a quilt to do soon enough!! Have a great day guys!!!

I am working on a bookcase quilt! My first ever, and it is coming out pretty cute so far. It is a great way to use up some stash!

My wife and I are working on a king sized quilt for our son & his wife. They lost everything in a house fire a year ago. The quilt will be family photos in an attic window pattern.

Cleaning out and taking over the basement for my own space! Until now, it was the den/entertainment room for my kids who are now both in college. I cannot believe the amount of stuff that has built up. Today I found a note card with the phone number of my parent's beach house. They sold that place about eight years ago!

Here is a photo of one of my unfinished blocks for my bookcase quilt. It is just a 'free style' quilt made to look like books on a bookshelf. I am making this one with 6 rows to look like a whole bookcase, will have brown sashing between each row and borders to make the 'bookcase'. Just google 'bookcase quilt' and you will find oodles of examples. It is a really fun, creative quilt with no pattern and NOTHING to match up!!!

I've never heard of a bookcase quilt, but how clever! I really like yours and can see putting one of my own on my must-do list. The "no matching" and "whatever" just really appeals to me!

I loved the fabric choices! I finished my quilt this morning and then went to a charity event for the March of Dimes. I tried to post the picture but its too large.

I made a memorial bookshelf Wallhanging once. I put actual titles of the woman's favorite books.

Today, I loaded a DWR quilt on my new Grace floor frame to do my first hand quilting project. What a freaking nightmare! Took most of the day to get it loaded correctly so I am waiting until tomorrow to actually start the hand quilting.
