Traditional Hawaiian quilts are typically made with cotton fabric utilizing 2 solid fabrics. I have made using solids, batiks and grunge. I'm currently working on blocks for bed size quilt using gold and pecan Kona solids and a wall size with a batik background and a Kaffe print. I also always wash my fabric before starting my project which prevents bleeding and makes the fabrics easier to work with, learned this from my teacher and friend Nancy Chong.
