Bebe the flower loooks just like a dogwood tree bloom. In real life, I have seen white and pink blooms on trees, but never mixed like that. I think the dogwood tree is one of the most beautiful trees in bloom I have ever seen. I love the magnolia tree in bloom, but in my opinion it can't compare with the dogwood.
I read the legend of the dogwood tree years ago that stated that cross that Christ was crucified on was made of a dog wood tree, and as a result the dogwood tree would never ever be large enough again to make a cross from. I don't know if that is correct or not, as I have never been able to find this in the Bible. Most likely just a story someone told because of the shape of the petals etc. But it is still my favorite tree.

Do you remember what the brand name was on your kit (i.e., what company put it out)? I can't seem to find that out from the ebay ads that I've seen.

I'm sorry, I have no idea. As I said it was about 15 or 20 years ago . I've learned a lot about quilting since then, but still don't pay much attention to company names, or brand names.

Thanks for the reply, Grandma Janice. I wish I had thought to ask my grandmother more about it before she passed away (at 98 yrs old!), but I didn't know enough then to ask. And like you said, I've learned so much more about quilts and quilting since then.
