Thanks and hugs to you all.
QFK is a wonderful organization! You can go to their website & click "volunteer". They will send you a little kids quilt kit in a gallon zip lock bag. It contains beautifully coordinated pre-cut fabric for the quilt top, backing, label & pattern. You provide the batting, thread and love! Their patterns are very easy and fun to assemble. They ask that all quilting be done by machine for durability. When finished, wash it & rinse with Downy and mail it back. They distribute the little quilts to kids in hospitals all over! It's a wonderful, warm feeling to have an opportunity to participate!

Thanks for sharing. That should help motivate me to finish the 6 (all stash) that I have waiting to be quilted. I had sent 8 last year but couldn't get to these by their kit deadline. Thanks for sharing! :)

I am so happy to hear that. I have sent them about 20 quilts or more--half their material; the other half mine. I have an order in right now for 3 more kits.

I am a member of the GA chapter. We meet 1x a month and sew, quilt, make kits. There are about 20 of us. We have taken them to shelters, hospitals childrens homes (each child recieves one on their birthday). Recently we sent some to the tornado victims in GA and sent 60 to Japan. We are self sufficient work from donations of money, fabric, batting, and often recieve work from other states and GA quilters. I qwent to a hospital and assisted in delivering quilts to children there, it was such a heartwarming feeling to see the childrens smiles when the recieved a quilt.
