So I am in Philadelphia today for the next couple of days because my daughter is getting operated on. As we are getting ready to go into recovery the nurse says to me that there is a program called "quilts for kids". Before she could start to describe it my husband and I look at each other and smile and tell her that we are already aware of it as I have made some for them myself. Well, she went on to tell us that the staff truly live these quilts as well as the patients. Now all the nurses that she told that I make them keep telling me how much they are grateful for these.

So fellow quilters this was a great chance to see our efforts put to work. I think we should all give ourselves a pat on the backs for being so generous.

P.s. The nurse insisted I take one for my daughter since she would appreciate it even more. Which she did

I just mailed my first QFK quilt out last week. I love to use my talents to provide comfort for others.

My daughter got a Noah's Ark quilt when she was in the hospital. I still have that quilt and cherish it. I have made 6 quilts for Quilts for Kids. I plan on making more. It is a very worthy cause.

I have heard of Quilts for Kids but have not understood what it was all about. Can anyone give me some info? Do you have to use their kits? Special fabrics? Special patterns? Where do you send them to? Would love to help out....as doing anything for children always warms my heart. That is why I contribute so much to Make-A-Wish. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and hugs to you all.

The kits are very cheery and easy to do. I'm glad to hear that they are appreciated by the staff too.
