I bought some of those FQ's that were on sale at Wal-Mart a while back.

Most of the labels came right off.

I have four that did not want to come off. I imagine they got near a heat source somewhere. I've pull off most of the label but the fabric is very sticky.

Does anyone have some good advice for me? Something to presoak in? It's very sticky and if I cut the sticky out the FQ will have big holes in the middle.

Googon works great to remove the sticky stuff from the lable. Just dab it on and let it sit for a bit and wash it. What ever you do don't rub the fabric together as it will stay in the fabric.

    Wow, thanks Deborah!

I just googled it and a local Wal-Mart has it! How ironic - need to go to Wal-Mart and buy something to clean up a mess they created - hmm! LOL

Oh well, need to buy some more milk anyway. The only problem about going there just to buy milk is that I wind up buying more than I intended!

Thanks for info. I also have 2 FQ from Walmart and the underside of the labels were like duck tape, can't get all the label off and the fabric is very sticky.

Same thing happened to me. Not sure the fabric was worth the trouble. I soaked it in hot water.

Sounds like Walmart should use a different sticker for their labels. Perhaps showing the management the problem will prevent them from continuing this practice.

Many have had the same problem from other places stickers/labels too. I have noticed that the new stickers have a better adhesive on them now :D They must have listend to us and made a change :D:D:D

I had a problem getting the labels off several fat quarters I bought on sale at Joann's. Nothing I did would soak the paper off. Finally cut what I could around them and had to trash part of them.

I bought some fq from walmart too with sticky. I ended up just cutting around the sticky spot. I couldn't get it out

Hair dryer works on sticky labels on hard surfaces. Don't know how it does it but after I've warmed the label I can gently peel it off. Might work on fabric.
