    I don't know if I can upload from my phone but I'm going to try. If you can see it my FMQ foot has a bar over the needle screw which makes it hop.

    Oh, I think my Juki has that. However, I only have used it with that foot on and it was on when i got it used.

    Thanks everyone for helping. The info was very helpful. DH found the problem. The spring on the foot is missing a spacer thingy. The spring wasn't compressing enough or something and the foot wasn't doing anything but staying in one place. How that little spacer got off I don't know unless it broke and fell off. A new foot for me.

    Glad you figured it out. Too bad it means a new foot. Nice that hubby is handy like that. ;-)

    That's why I switched to the juki foot pn my brother machine. The other one kept breaking. The juki is all metal. And it works great.
