The only time my SID puckers is when I don't have the backing taut enough and the sandwich isn't nice and tight. The good news is that the small puckers do sort of disappear in the wash when the quilt kind of wrinkles up.

Your walking foot would have helped some. I get less puckers when I spray baste. Madquilter is right......most of those puckers will disappear when you wash the quilt.

not walking foot for FMQ. you need or mean a darning foot that has a spring on it. larger eye needle will help your thread to keep from breaking too. stitching fast makes friction on the thread.
    good luck.

Thanks for all your help, everyone! I finished quilting last night and got the binding on. I will get some pictures and learn how to post them. I am going to try spray basting next time. I have a can of 505. Does anyone know if It gets old? It is a few years old.
