When making flying geese - and you cut the triangles off the back side, have you saved those and made anything with them?
I seem to have a decent size box of these and I know someone is bound to have used these in something.
I'd really appreciate seeing any projects you could share! Thanks in advance

I don't use the waste method to make flying geese anymore. I figured up the difference for one quilt I was going to make and it was a full yard of fabric difference. You can just sew them together and then look thru Bonnie Hunter's website, I think it's www.quiltville.com, for some of her patterns that use half square triangles.

I have sewed the triangles together and used them in quilts like this one. I hate throwing good pieces of fabric away.

I don't use that method either. Last time I made flying geese, I used Eleanor Burns' ruler and really liked that method - very little waste and perfect flying geese. However... if you already have all those triangles, the suggestions you've been given are really cute.

Oh, yes on Eleanor Burns' ruler and flying geese method. I tried three different ways on one table runner in my search to do flying geese that were accurate and easy. After listening to me complain and whine for several days, Mom finally said, "Well, let's go look for that ruler." YAY! We found it...it was a good day for her, and so it was for me to have her be able to find the ruler. Came home and did the remaining geese in less than the time it took to do one of the other methods. That ruler is worth the money.
Nanny's dollface: That's one cute quilt! Very spirited!

I have a mixture of these type of cuttings in a large envelop and not sure where it is. Not sure what I will do with them yet.
