    I would do a meander inside the dog part. I think it will create a nice balance to all the linear lines. its adorable!

    Your cousin is so lucky, she has a weiner dog, you for a cousin, and gets this oh-so-cute quilt! Heck of a long doggie that is! I liked the idea of tying it with soft fuzzy ties, yarn or something.
