Can't have the radio on, or a movie playing or an audio book going when I'm reading directions.
I have to go over all directions again and again as I'm measuring and re-measuring.
I have to do everything V E R Y S L O W L Y and re check myself.
(Then I can have the radio on, or listen to a movie or book while I relax and sew.)
I can't work too late or I get sloppy and/or make mistakes.
I have to have more respect for my sewing machine so I don't sew my finger again.
I've learned to look at my fabric in the daylight.
I've learned, too late, that some Batiks really do have a right and wrong side.
My knees aren't as flexible as they used to be.

I do keep staples on hand for breakfast, so that just leaves one other meal. Laughing at myself here.

Don't ever, ever, ever calculate yardage for an entire quilt after 8 PM if you're a morning person!!!!!!
Ditto for doing the math to change a block from one size to another.
Ditto for cutting fabric, especially if you're also in a "close enough is close enough" mood.....
Read a book, surf the web or watch TV instead.
