Absolutely beautiful. What a great gift. My Mom made me a table cloth and 12 napkins for Christmas a couple of years ago and I love it. Every time I set my table and use it I think of all the loving work that went into making it for me and it makes me appreciate it more. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you all for your comments. I am always nervous about making something for one of my DILs as she doesn't like much homemade. I know it is possible to make what she likes if she would be more explicit about what that is. I have decided to make the backing out of "gray on gray" with swirling lines and poka dots so that if she doesn't like the front, she might like the simpler backing.
