I got inspired after I designed a Quilt top for our waterbed. Now just need to learn to quilt. I really liked the design, so went to our local Ben Franklin store and took some hand quilting classes. Well, I loved the process, but had the need for speed. So, I dug out my old sewing machine, and ,as they say, the rest is History. I still need to make that original quilt top, even though the waterbed is long gone. It will be a white on white, whole cloth quilt of a Carousal Horse.

I started sewing when I was 4 years old. My mum was a teacher and taught the girls to sew at an early age. She taught me to knit and I taught myself to make dolls clothes then later at high school my own clothes then my children's clothes. I have only been quilting and appliqueing for the last 11 years. I fell in love with the applique quilts but learned the basics from a friend who gave lessons in her fabric shop. I taught myself everything else but when I get the chance I do go to workshops to learn different ways of improving my skills.
