what kind of fabrics do you buy the most.

I buy Kona Snow by the bolt to go with 30's prints, and CW prints and backgrounds. Just love charms, especially anything Moda! If it's a good sale, I like to get at least a yard of each fab in the line and usually end up mixing and matching with other lines - whatever works.

I'm a new quilter, so my stash is minimal. Therefore, I'm drawn to all kinds of fabrics. I decided the best way to learn was to stick with pretty basic designs at this point. I use pretty traditional blocks to learn techniques. Therefore, I tend to purchase collections or a focus fabric with solids.
I have made some quilts with batiks, civil war prints w/ shirtings, and florals. I've been collecting 1930s material for sometime now, hoping to learn how to make a Dresden Plate. They remind me of my childhood. Moda fabrics are always my favorites!
I am always drawn to sales and clearance fabric, but I only buy good fabric from quilt shops, not chain stores.

I have a new love of batiks also. I have been working on building a stash, usually buying what I like. I love the florals on black background. Also love pastels. When I see completed quilts, they seem to have different colors than the ones I choose individually, so I'm trying to expand my palate. I also love fabric with words on it for some reason, but I'm picky about what it says. lol
