Sunbeam from Costco. Inexpensive and pretty good.

I have had about 5 irons in the past 5-6 years...so far they all break in one way or another. I have had mostly hightly recommended ones, but they all have negative reviews as well. I didn't go for the Olisio because it has some really bad reviews and I wasn't excited about the price...so can't rate that one. I currently am using one my husband picked up to do his wood laminating...$10 I think he paid...It works just like all my others. So far only used it for about 4-5 months...we will see...but I can buy 10 a year for that price!

My Rowenta blew out my power strip , didn't catch fire luckily. i tossed it and the power cord in the trash and went to Target and got a Shark iron. so far, so good.
i never trust auto shut off, not as far as leaving the room. it did shut off but of course, i needed it to stay on while I was sewing and then ironing as I went along. i didn't buy the new one with that option since i hate that.

I have a Shark, got it at Walmart for about $30. I do love this iron, lots of steam, dry when I want it, self turn-off.

I don't like the auto shut-off feature. I'm back and forth sewing and pressing and hate having to wait for it to warm back up.

    I found a dry iron at http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/s...Dry_Iron/42277
I am sick and tired of steam irons that spit and sputter after a short time. I will use a spray bottle if I need steam.

I had a Rowenta years ago, but couldn't afford another one when it was time to buy a new iron. I also got a Shark iron, not at Walmart...and am really happy with it. I know many people are happy with Black and Decker's for a less expensive iron.

I gave up on Rowenta after paying more than $100 each for two of them, and having each of them start leaking and spurting every time I used them. Now I use one I bought at Walmart for $39.99 - I think it's a T-Fal. It works just great with lots of steam which I love.

I use a very old Samson United dry iron I found at the Salvation Army store in Lyndora, PA. I paid 3.00 for it and 1.00 for a new old stock cloth covered replacement cord after my dachshund decided he liked the taste of the original one. I don't leave it on for hours on end, I iron what I need to iron in a session then unplug it. If you ever run across one - buy it.
