T-Fal. Best mid priced iron I have ever had. I just heard on The Quilt Show that Edyta Sitar uses the same. Only time I have ever heard one mentioned.

I have a panasonic I bought at Big Lots about 10 years ago - think I paid between $10 & $20 for it. It has a nonstick sole, retractable cord & automatic shut off. It doesn't sputter & I love it. It replaced a 30 year old iron (forgot the brand) that finally gave up. I like this iron very much.

I always go with the cheapies. They usually last a long long time. When they do act up, I just buy another one.

I had a Rowenta $$$$ and hated it. It didn't stay hot...and spit steam. I found a Shark at Target and love it!

I have a Rowenta iron and love it. Like the weight and the auto-off. So far no problems. I also have 2, under $10 and bought at Wal*Mart, irons that are also great but light weight. These I take with me to classes etc.

I really like the cheapest iron possible philosophy. I had an expensive iron once that did things like pop feet out to raise it from the fabric if I left it sitting too long. I hated it, so it went to the goodwill. Now I just use the cheep one, and I don't feel bad if it breaks.

I have a Rowenta with the seperate water tank. Have had it for over 10 years... it works great and I love it. If it ever gives out, however, I don't think... at my age, I will spend as much money on another.
