The Factory. Most weekends I have a friend, or somebody's kid over to learn and sew. Yesterday I had a friend, her friend, her daughter and a nephew all working on different projects. Kind of a madhouse, but lots of fun.

Since our twin 6 year old grandchildren came to live with us I have to share my basement space with them. I now call it the mess!

When I am heading in there, I tell my DH, "I am going to my Happy Place". When I am referring to it in conversation, it's called either my "Happy Place" or "Sanctuary".

I call my space a studio. My DH might call it a melamine jungle occasionally because it is FULL of white melamine. Seven melamine cabinets accommodate my stash and several sets of white melamine drawers and shelves hold my tinier treasures. I have a melamine cart for my cutter, a melamine cutting table and to top it off my DH bought TWO 4X8 sheets of melamine-covered chip board to fashion this HUGE center island for my machines and worktable. I call this 400+ square foot garage my Studio and happy place.

My husband refers to it as 'the Sweat Shop'.......because I spend more hours in there than at my part time job!

My DH named mine Patti's Palace because he thinks I've spent enough in there to have built a palace. Little does he know!!!

I call mine my play room or as my husband calls it the queens play room since I have a sign in it that says quilt queen and I have quilt qn on my license plate.
