Default What is the oldest piece of quilting fabric you bought new?

I have been going through my stash, organizing, etc and I found some flannel that I bought to use in a crib quilt for my son (he's 38). I could not find anything to go with it so I stashed it.

How old is your oldest piece of fabric that you bought new?

Sounds like you win! Make that blouse--enjoy the fabric.

I had two pieces of quilters cotton that I bought when my DD was a baby - she is now 47. I recently donated it to my son's church, who were gathering up fabric to make those pillowcase dresses for girls in Africa. I would have been too afraid to use it in an actual quilt but thought it would hold up good enough for a sun dress for a little girl.

I have fabric scraps over 40 years old but quilting scraps about 25. I used up a lot of them in a scrap quilt this year for my bedroom but there are still a few hanging around.

I've got some scraps of a floral print on brown that I bought in 1977 and made into a skirt in Jr. Hi Home Ec. I used most of the scraps up in a quilt I completed earlier this summer, but I still have a few blocks left.

I have some fabric scraps left over from sewing projects when I was in junior high and high school. I'm 61 and graduated in 1970. haha I can't bear to get rid of them, so I use pieces of them in scrappy potholders from time to time.
