Colorfulom I was looking for something that wouldn't be so intense I couldn't enjoy the ladies. Was this a particular pattern or did you just use an individual block pattern? Hope this makes sense. Sharon

Yellow Brick Road is by Atkinson Designs. It is $8 on their website (Atkinsondesigns.com). A queen size takes 30 FQ. There are several other simple patterns available as well. They wholesale as well, so you may be able to find them elsewhere cheaper, but even $8 is pretty cheap for a pattern you are sure to use again and again!

it takes 12 for lap size, 18 for a twin!

The pattern I used was Paradox, from Freckled Whimsy. It was a fun pattern to work on!

YBR is a really good investment as there is not another pattern like it for showcasing FQ s. 12 will make a lap quilt 57" x 75", 18 a twin 66" x 93".

This is a pic I made from some lovely Batiks.

Edited to add this link http://www.favoritefabric.com/cgi/co...on&key=PATWPEF it is very similar to the YBR but it's free. Do let us know what you decide and what you make

Ehow.com has instructions for yellow brick road and turning twenty but they seem a little sketchy on block sizes and how many pinterest of course has tons of pictures. Adding gray to the yellow and black fabric would Los make a lovely quilt.

Skhf, Thank you for the suggestion and link. I did look at the site and, like you, felt the instructions were a little sketchy. I like the idea of adding gray fabric to the mix and will probably try to get to a quilt store to pick some out. I am so thankful for the great advice and help that you ladies have all provided me with.
