I get the giggles when I think of all these ladies bringing little sacks of stockings to your Gran. That is one beautiful quilt.

Mickie612, since there are 3 girls in our family, and we often even wore hose to school, I think we supplied our share. But Grandma had a lot of thrifty depression era friends who were happy to accommodate her and were glad to find a use for the nylons, so that they didn't have to throw them away!

Times have certainly changed!

I was just thinking this. I completed a biscuit quilt last year the the bottom of the square was 4" and top was 5" so they would always have a "puff". I found that mine is too heavy to sleep under unless it's zero degrees outside.

I would definitely agree with Dayle. This is a Boston Commons. The trip around the world look like diamonds, not squares.

Dayle, Leave your quilt as it is. Place it on the daybed during the day; remove it if someone sleeps in the bed. It is too
precious as is to try to convert it to another type of quilt.
