    I'm crazy about churn dash. It looks good in every fabric to me, and it's a very old pattern.

    How about using the homespun as a background for an primitive applique quilt? I've done that and it turned out really nice.

    What about the Buggy Barn patterns? They look primitive to me.

    I would have to say hole in the barn door and stars, especially if they are abit wonky. Buggy Barn has a pattern called Crazy among Friends, that, would be perfect for what you are looking for. It has angels, stars, baskets and hole in the barn door (churn dash.)
