Great idea to put it in writing. Makes it official! I want to get a new quilt finished for my DH and begin one for my son (just got engaged).

Well, if I could find a place big enough to lay out my choc/raspberry quilt I could at least pin it. No room to spread out anything around here. But I would like to finish this one and a lap quilt I have in the drawer. Doing some sewing crafts for church craft sale coming up in Nov. So might be another quilt or two in that mix to finish up. Just doing swaps right now. strips, winter and secret angel. and I'm a chillin'!

    Blessings,
    Ruth

I have several quilts that I'm working on right now that have to be done by Dec. 1. Yesterday I caught up on my Buck-a-block Thangles club by making the last 5 blocks, did my BOM for this Saturday, and make the remaining 5 blocks for GGD's quilt that each block had 8 Y seams. I've got 5 more to go on the other GGD's quilt and then those two, a couch throw for my brother and a quilt for a grandson to do. I'm hoping to have most of them done by the end of September. Plus I'm also hoping to have two other BOM's that I'm working on (but I'm months behind) done by then. I'm going to a retreat at Threads of Time in Danville, Il. the last week of Sept. so I should be able to get a lot done there. ANYONE CARE TO JOIN ME?

If you're around the Illinois/Indiana state line, near Interstate 74, be sure and stop in at Threads of Time in Danville, Il. It's a wonderful quilting store.

Just take the Bowman Ave. Exit, at the ramp stop sign turn right. At the next stop sign, Perrysville Rd, turn right. Follow that road (it curves) to another stop sign, keep following that road (it becomes Buchanan) for about 4 blocks and ToT is on the right. You can't miss it, there's a huge oldfashioned clock outside.

Yesterday, I finished up a quilt top that I started about 5 years ago. Everything seemed to go wrong with it but I hung in there and got her done! My goal is to get that quilted and done by Sept. 30. I also have a few more scrappy tops to quilt. I also need to finish up my tablerunner for the swap on this site and send it out by Aug. 31. Then on to the Christmas stuff!

I need to finish a hand quilting project. Our club has an annual quilt show in October and I would love to have it ready by then! I have about 30 of the 48 - 8" blocks quilted, and of course, nothing done on the borders yet.

Our club did this project together a couple of years ago. I designed it, and two people finished theirs and had them in the show last year. The top has languished in the "this one next" pile since January 2008! So it's definitely time!

I actually really, really like the top. It's just finding the sit down time to hand quilt, you know?

    Blessings!

I need to get borders on a queen size and a king size quilt and get both quilted before our guild's show in October. I also need to make sleeves and some labels for the ones that I do have finished. The problem is that it's been so hot here and we don't have AC that I haven't felt like wrestling with all of that fabric. I guess I should get up at 5 on a couple of mornings and just get it done. Borders are just not my favourite thing to do even though I have read all of the tricks and tips. I know I have to get moving because DD has to help me sandwich and pin them before she heads back to college. I tried having her older sister help me and it just didn't work nearly as well. DD#2 has been helping me since she was little and will make a great quilter some day when she decides it's what she wants to do.

I am making a table cloth, wall hanging, sleeves to put on my house plants and plant pokes for fall and winter, crocheting black doilies and sewing orange and yellow fabric on the back of them. Got other ideas to but not sure if I will get it all done.
