ginghers - i got them thru my home extension club - they're sharp enough to cut your finger off. i also have a pair of the duck bill ginghers. all half price thru extension club!!! and i use cheap snippers for threads - NEVER a good pair of scissors!

me too - i forgot that in my first post. i also have a small pair of curved blade by fiskar. i do use them most especially for applique and embroidery.

I have a tag hanging from my Gingher shears: "Don't even think about using these!!" I only use them on fabric. Paper dulls them in no time flat. (The tag was for my family, meaning "hands off!)

Gingher---I have several sizes and the thread snip. I don't know what I would do without them. Mine are probably 20 years old and still work perfectly.

Also include rotary cutters. I cut out my patterns with the very small rotary cutters too.

I love my Ginghers, all of them, the black ones are VERY light weight, and easy on my hands. and the snips are the best!

I have a pair with a spring in the handle so they reopen automatically saving my poor arthritic hands. Love them.

fabric well-never any wire!!!!!! or cardboard!!!
crafting scissors in general, look at walmart or a craft store. JoAnns has the separate depts., i would ask her without letting on what you are trying. there are scissors that have different cutting lines, etc. i use a cricket pair for hand sewing.
