    You'll need to do more quilting than that. Even Warm and Natural has to be quilted every 10 inches.

    You should be able to buy a twin size batting and get two baby quilts out of it. Since your quilt is wider than one width of fabric you'll need to seam it either width wise or length wise to get the size you need if you don't want to do the diagonal thing.
