    Depends on the project and the fabric. For example, ME on terry use water soluable. Knits, after applying totally stable I like cut away. If it is a dense design, tear away, for a delicate design again a couple layers of water soluable .......hope I didn't confuse you...........think of it like cake pans...........round, bundt, 9 x 13, spring form...........depends........calla

    I use to buy stabilizer too, until a friend of mine told me to use a paper towel for my appliqués. I tried, it worked and is much cheaper! I just tear the paper towel away!
