There are a few that I dislike or else I have yet to see them used in a quilt that I like. There are a few that are so optically illusional (such as Tumbling Blocks and Bargello) that they make me dizzy and nauseated. I greatly admire the work, the fabric selections, the skill required to create a Bargello quilt, but they make me physically ill to look at them. I don't think I have a favorite, though, because the color choices and the block/piece layout of a quilt makes all the difference in the world. I'm not normally a big fan of Drunkard's Path in all its many layout options, but they had a DP quilt displayed on the local hospital lobby wall last year that was one of the most gorgeous quilts I have ever seen. I came back a few months later with my camera, but they had replaced that quilt with another one, dang it! I waited too long. I did a sketch when I first saw it, but the sketch is a bit "iffey".

Pinwheel is my favorite block. I love the way they seem to be so free flowing. They remind me of the swings at amusement parks, my favorite ride for the same reason - because swings make me feel free flowing. Wheeeeeeee!!

I'll bet, in your area, you will find a friend that compliments your likes/dislikes/talents and abilities! You would be a quilter's dream, I would think! <wave>
