I can and have used that same line. However I am lucky because my husband does seem to understand my obsession with sewing machines. At least with ones that work.

Does your husband have a hobby? Maybe an expensive hobby?

Mine plays golf. I just found out yesterday that he had just purchased a "Used" driver about 2 weeks ago - first time I had heard about it - think it was a slip of the tongue - Because after he said it, the next thing I heard was "It was a great deal" - apparently he was able to buy a $450.00 driver for $150.00

I now figure I have some kind of buying power - not sure what it will be .....

Cute! And good for those wives!

I have never understood asking permission from a spouse to buy something within reason. DH and I never discuss purchases. He will show me what he bought and I'll show him my new toys but other then that it is a non issue who bought what. I didn't know he bought a new pickup until he drove it home and he knew I bought a new car when he saw it in our garage. We are perfect for each other, both independent as heck but love being together.

You are a lucky lady, and he is a lucky guy.

LOL - That's a good one. Mine likes to play tabletop role-playing games that call for a ton of miniatures (I call them his dollies- teehee)....Think it will work......I saw a machine yesterday on E-Bay...

I just tell mine, I bought a new machine today. I only buy new ones that sound better than the one I am using.

For my hubby it would be "how many CD's?" or "how many screwdrivers?" or "how may RC cars?" ... take your pick!! All expensive collections he has..plus about 10 other collections not mentioned!! LOL

That is just way to funny. I will have to forward that along to my BF. He is a hunter, but I still don't understand all of the equipment. Wouldn't it be less expensive to raise a cow?
