I ask him how many tractors does it take to plow untillable land? He has more than enough tractors, and no where to plow.

Buying fabric and an occasional sewing machine keeps me out of the pool hall. As long as I don't quit cooking, I'm fine.

I just put mine in the trunk and wait until he's asleep to bring it in. He's not visual so never notices. He doesn't have any expensive hobbies but my attitude is, "Why should the second wife enjoy the benefits of my frugality?" I said that once to a lady trying to justify the purchase of a $3000 machine and she said, "I am his third wife." I was speechless!

I like that answer. My husband seems to think that he needs to tell everyone how much I paid for my Bernina 830, next time he does it I'm going to ask him how much he paid for his boat and where he stores it. We had to build a new home with a 3 car garage to store the boat!!!

I've never had to use any of these "come backs", but this has to be one of the funniest topics I've read in a while :D

My hubby doesn't say anything about the machines. In fact he is always out somewhere looking for me a featherweight that we might be able too afford. He missed one at a place where you buy things cheap one week. He went back when they had it open again and it was gone. They were only asking 20.00 for it and he said it was pretty but he didn't know if it ran or not and if I wanted to give that much for it. In fact he has missed several machines in that same place by waiting too long. I don't go with him because it is a small place and loaded with people and I dont get around that well to go in and look around.

I told mine when he buys a "blue " tractor.... I'll buy a walmart machine and sell my Janome's.... He is a John Deere man thru and thru.. so he understood then.
