    I call it a mock piping and will cut 3/4-1" wide usually. I love how it can add that needed color before the final border or binding, but not have to add a separate border.

    What is it called when you put a trim between two border pieces that is a folded piece of material about 1" wide?

    The small green strip on the far left is a folded material that only has the raw edge sewn down.

    I would think that would be a flange.

    Thanks, Treasureit, for asking that question! I was coming from the opposite direction - I read the term "flange" recently and wondered what a "flange" was. When our members gave the term, you had described it perfectly, LOL!
