What thread do you like for machine quilting?
#1
I use thread from Connecting Threads and love it,as I love it for piecing and sewing but I don't really like it for quilting. I just got done quilting a table topper and I really dislike how it turned out . What thread do you use for machine quilting your projects? Thanks in advance!

It depends on the quilt and quilting pattern and the look I want.
If I want just a "shadow" for the pattern I use Maxi-Lock, Bottom Line, So Fine, or embroidery threads.
If I want definate stitch definition I will use Star, Signature or King Tut.

I'm an Aurifil girl. It's a thinner thread, so the quilting blends in more, which I like. Plus I looooooove that it fits more on a bobbin (and more on the total spool) so there's less changing of the bobbin

I tend to use Gutterman 100% cotton, only because I can get it at my local JoAnn Fabrics. I does well for me with very little lint build up and no breakage. I usually buy the larger spools. I've used it both on top and in the bobbin together and used it in the bobbin only with YLI invisible thread on the top. No problems with either configuration.
