Thank you all for your replies. I have decided to stick with the Aurifil 50 wt for my quilting. I am now trying to figure out if my stitch length indicator on my sewing machine is working correctly. I have read that you should normally use a 2.5 or 3.00 for your stitch length when quilting. However, when I use a 2.5 or 3.00 my stitches are very very tiny. I have to bump it up to a 5 to get a good looking stitch. I'm using a walking foot and a 90/14 quilting needle. Using a Singer Confidence 7469. Anyone else out there have this type of machine and have had the same experience? I'm waiting to hear back from Singer on this issue. Thanks again for all your replies.

Hi Div, I'm unable to adjust the pressure on my presser foot, only by my own foot pressure. I've always normally use a 3.00 or 3.5 in my regular sewing and that was a good stitch length. But again, was surprised that I have to up it to a 5.00 for my quilting. I'm just want to make sure that my stitches will be strong enough, but not too tiny that if I have to rip out seams that I'm able to see them and not damage my fabric. Do I need to have at least 8-10 stitches per inch to ensure that my stitches will be strong enough no matter what my stitch length on my machine shows?
