Agreed - had never thought of that but love how it looks. I think that would look great on your quilt kind of like a fade out instead of a hard stop. Normally I like a hard stop but in this case think the other would look wonderful.

I LOVE that quilt and it has just made my To-Do List.

I love your quilt! The design and colors are wonderful! If someone hasn't said it already, you should post this photo in the "Pictures" section as well. I'm sure everyone would love to see the pics.

Such a beautiful quilt! Going on the bucket list...

My first thought was a wide white border with appliqued vines, leaves and flower petals in a variety of color. But that's just me.

Great "playing" on the EQ7 with lots of ideas, DHMom!

I like that idea too ... vines and flowers to soften the sharp edges of the quilt top.

I would use my favorite color in a solid with a small black, or navy inner border!!

What a gorgeous quilt, I give you credit for piecing all thoe little blocks. I agree with QuiltE about repeating the pattern out into the border, or just use a white border, my third choice would be a narrow white border, then bring one of the colors out into the border like ckcowl suggests. I realize that's not going to be much help, but I would not use the piano key border, it would take away from the quilt, and it's such a beautiful quilt I don't think you should do that.

I would not use piano keys border - too much pattern. I would use solid medium or royal blue - then
    bind in white.
