I have a finished yo-yo quilt which was made by my aunt back in the early 1930's out of fabrics of the time. I have an unfinished yo-yo quilt, started by my mom at the same time my aunt started hers. Both have passed away. I have all the fabrics/yo-yo's to finish my mom's, but I can't make myself work on it for now. My mom used my aunt's on a double bed, always over a solid color blanket or sheet. They really aren't designed to be sandwiched (at least, I've never seen one sandwiched). I agree with the others, you'd have to date the fabrics used in yours to know more closely when it was made. A treasure no matter what--they're a tremendous amount of work.
