I was able to spend about three hours hand quilting a quilt I have on the frame. I am nearly half way through. It is a mental mindset, but I am sure the second half goes faster. It seems to me like the second half is downhill.

We went to QDO in Lexington, then to Q for some awesome shopping, then to Chuey's. We made a full day of it. So much fun. Tomorrow, we have a road trip planned to Quilter's Trunk.

Skiing in the Mountains for last Winter fling. 34 degrees and expected snow. I will finish a birthday banner tomorrow with appliqués numbers tomorrow while everyone else goes back to school.

We have a quilt show on Saturday and Sunday. Over 200 entries and 40 vendors. What fun.

I met up with my quilting friends for lunch. We usually meet once a month at one of the gal's house to sew all day. But have not been able to get together since December. So, there was a guild show in town yesterday, some of the gals went, I couldn't go to that, and some others couldn't, so we met at a restaurant for lunch. We stayed 3.5 hours! What fun, laughing, joking, planning a road trip for fabric and starting initial planning for our annual retreat in October. So much fun! We all missed each other a lot. Thus the road trip in the next couple of weeks, on a Saturday. And the first Saturday of April we are getting together to sew again for the day. Hurray!

I will be working on items that I plan to take to a craft fair the end of June, so I hope to finish up the projects that I have already cut out and are ready to sew.

I quilted at church yesterday for a few hours on our latest mission project: making washable sanitary pads for the girls in Africa at a school we support. They cannot go to school while they are having their period because they have no sanitary supplies. There are approximately 50 girls of that age so we hope to make 4 per girl and put them in a cute, colorful purse. We were able to sew 31 in the few hours we worked. Some traced patterns, some cut, some assembled the pads, and a last person brought the final cuts, including the PUL which made the pad waterproof. We are going to include a bar of soap in each kit as well. It was fun and tiring, but so worthwhile.
