Does DH realize how many of us are getting a huge laugh at his expense? Yet somehow we're also thinking how nice he is to try to help. My father did all the maintenance on my mother's sewing machine, but that was a long time ago.

I showed this message to my husband and being the sound logical mind that he thinks he is asked, "Well, if it runs in reverse, why shouldn't this woman turn the mahine around and sew?" "After, all, he has it running..."
I am thinking of asking him if a mechanic fixed his car to only run in reverse, would he drive backwards to his destination? DUH!!!! (And to think I married this man for his brain)

ROFLMBO (Rolling on the Floor Laughing My Butt Off). Scarcoa, I am sorry but that was not at all what I expected you to say. Gotta give him credit for trying.

Pensy Dutch - Your husband is too funny and so are you.

What a great subject to make me smile. Actually the responses to the subject. I am still laughing.

Is it by any chance an older Viking? I had one that had set for a number of years and when I got it out to use. It only sewed in reverse. There is a Vintage Viking (prior to 1980) yahoo group that has information files on how to work on the older Vikings. I was advised by a repairman that mine was unrepairable and I should scrap it. Six months later I found this group and promptly bought another Viking off of ebay because I now know it can be cleaned and repaired.

My DH helped me fix my printer one time and it cost me almost one hundred dollars at the shop to fix it. He does not touch my sewing machind.

I'm impressed that he was able to fix it, but how did he fix it so that it runs in reverse??

I just leave the fixing/tune-up to the local shop.

My DH wouldn't be allowed to go near my machines. He never remembers how things came apart. I once had to finish a brake job on his pickup because he couldn't figure it out. He's a love tho, and will do anything else I need him to do, so he's a keeper.

You gotta love em is right. I laughed so hard at this and when I told my husband he said, oh tell her to turn the machine around.

So your machine is now running backwards ....

Does this mean your machine will tackle that backlog of projects?!?!?
