    Rubbing your hair with pure silk fabric will make it shinny and very smooth. That's a model's trick of the trade.

    I had a gorgeous piece of old kimono that I used in a jacket. I chose a pattern with princess lines and used the kimono silk, which is very narrow, as the center back panel. It blew everybody away at a wedding I wore it to. That silk had some body to it so I used a nubby raw silk for the rest of the jacket. Worked beautifully together.
