My daughter was throwing away a huge pile of scrubs. She works at a vet clinic so they were mostly animal prints...dogs, cats, etc. I made a quilt with log cabin design on the front and then strips of all materials on the back. She loves it and so do all her coworkers.

Those are all very nice quilts & it looks like they took awhile to make......the quilts i make are very scrappy crumb that i don't have to cut or measure......most of the quilts anyway......i have tons of scrap pieces......people also donate fabric to me that i use for borders or backing.......

These are all lovely! And so gratifying to know they are created out of repurposed materials! You may be a genius!

Good ideas being shared and the "show" by justfyingin is spectacular. I'm one of those "nothing should go to waste" kinda girls, too - thread, scraps, etc. The one thing I haven't seen mentioned yet is to cut up a "ruined" large cutting mat into smaller ones and bottoms for inserting in bags.

Love the shirt quilt. I am collecting shirts to make a quilt someday.

I save the little scraps for the dog bed project even though I'm not directly involved. I save scraps for a quilt that is in the making but going very slow. I saved my double wedding ring quilt by donating it to a salvation army homeless project. Again I'm not making the quilt but i know it will make a nice batting for the new quilt. I'm saving ties to make something although I don't know what yet.

beautiful quilts!!! i do enjoy taking my stash and using it up.

Justflyinin.....your one quilt,(can't remember the name) - i'm also making, and it is always a reminder how different the same pattern will look when using different fabrics. This was made from fabric i had in my stash that I bought for one quilt and it didn't make it into the quilt.

There will still be some left over, and i will be using it as some trim on some curtains for my sewing room that i just finished repainting.
