Mine is flying geese, regular and 3/D sometimes called One Seam Flying geese.
I've attached a link for instructions and cutting chart for different sizes.

Oh, forgot to say I sew the sides down to make curved edges. The sides are on the bias so they curve and behave quite nicely...lol

Log Cabin is one of my favorites. I made a queen size quilt using 3 inch finished log cabin blocks and then hand quilted it. It is my DH favorite.

The one seam flying geese is how I make all my flying geese. It's simple, fast, always perfect, and stitching down the pocket is worth that. If the stitching will make a big design difference then I will paper piece the flying geese. My favorite blocks are the disappearing type blocks.

Flying Geese!!! I admire you. I have made many, many in close to 20 years of quilting and I haven't made a good one yet. I will be checking out your link. I've probably watched 20 or so videos on FG, maybe this one will help. I've even taken a class on the technique. Still waiting for that good one.

Bargello is such a fun block to see finished into a quilt. I like that part of making them. But, overall, I love log cabin blocks because there are so many ways of setting them to change it up.

I only started quilting in 2018 so I'm fairly new - but have taken to it like a duck to water. My favorite quilt ive made so far was a Grandmothers Fan - which is a variation of a Dresden where you only do 1/4 of the block and then set it on point...so it looks like a lady's fan. Since I'm still making every effort to learn everything I can - I have a strict "no repeats!" Policy in place. Which makes me something of an oddball but how do you expect to get better if you always do the same thing? Currently I've been doing work with 60 degree triangles (laid this one out today!) But next project is going to be with Ohio Stars. And MSQ had an awesome tutorial on strip stars that is on my "to do". I'm raiding my green scraps and FQ for that one!
