I don't have time now to read all of the posts, but one thing comes to mind: think about her own wardrobe. What colors does she favor? OR ask her what her favorite color combinations are.

My take comes from some advice that was given to me. I was told to look through the store for a print that pops, that you absolutely love, love, love. Then buy fabrics to go with it that are either in that print, or contrast the colors in that print. I hope this helps. I've been using that formula for years and have been complimented for my choices of colors.
