I want to make a quilt for my DD. Her preference is large blocks with a contemporary style... to me that translates to non-traditional blocks. I think my preference would be to use batiks. Still undecided about pattern. What's your favorite?

I was just going to say that there's a pattern that has large strips of fabrics all in one color group like black&white or whatever her favorite colors are and then large applique circles. If you go to http://www.threadsoftimefab.com click on projects and look at the quilts there. There's a yellow, white and black one on there that's very contempary and has large sections of fabric. I don't remember who's it is though. But you wouldn't necessarily need a pattern because of it's simplicity.

You can do a search and type in:
Directions for Frames quilt (my avy)
for bigger pictures and directions if you want them.

Thank you, sewcrafty, for the compliment.

Okay, I looked it up and it's by Winnie Reid, the last one on the right in her first row. If you click on the pix it will come up larger. I think it's a pattern any young girl would like just use her colors.
