To be honest, the design work and chosing the fabrics. If I just had a sewer of my own!

Pretty much I like everything except basting and binding, and it's not like I hate those steps. They're just my least favorite!
I inherited a huge tub of homespun scraps in creams, reds, blues and greens--and a few prints. So far I've pulled out a baby quilt, a book bag to carry the quilt, and a table topper. Not too many big pieces so more table toppers may come out of it.

Free motion quilting. Piecing is just a step I go through to get to that.

Designing, and then putting in the last stitch of the binding and admiring the quilt, in other words the finish.

Going fabric shopping with my best friend and later having lunch! Also, catnapping under a completed quilt.

I'm new to the whole sewing and quilting thing so my favorite is learning. I'm currently working on a quilt for my wife and I and am learning a lot about the basics of piecing. I'm also learning through trial and error which fabrics are best to sew with. I definitely don't like working with knits. I'm starting a quilt for my new grandniece where I'm learning about applique and embroidery and when I get far enough along, I'll learn about sandwiching, quilting and binding. I'm also playing with vintage machines and am learning more about those as well.

I have so many UFOs that are completed cut out. I thought cutting was my favorite, but I have to cut a gazillion HSTs and am not liking cutting anymore. I like sewing the pieces together. I don't quilt my big quilts. I only quilt my little ones and don't know what I'm doing, but I can see me liking the quilting part, once I get the hang of it.

I really like all of the steps in making a quilt. My most favorite part would be giving it to some one and having them appreciate all of the work that goes into making it.
