I love that website! Where can you find all the good and I do mean good songs. I am from the 50's era and loved each and every song. Takes me back to the sock hops and canteens! And parking! My all time favorite is "Unchained Melody". So many good things happened listening to that song! You could understand the words, the music was good and I thank you for putting this website so we could all listen to the music. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Edie

do you have a computer in your sewing room? I'm not a subscriber to QNNTV.com--but my understanding is its quilting 24/7.

I like Michael Buble', Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, the three tenors, classical music, Russell Watson (listen to him, he is really good), but mostly I listen to audio books. I listened to the Jennifer Chiaverini books - all of them - absolutely excellent, Earlene Fowler, JoAnne Fluke, Richard Paul Evans, the stories Marley and Me, The Art of Racing in the Rain (good story about a dog and his master as told by the dog (Excellent)). That is how I do my sewing. I am in my own little world listening to a good book and sewing. I am assuming all of you know who Jennifer Chiaverini is. If not, you are in for a marvelous treat. She has, I believe, 14 books out and they are all quilting stories from today back to the Underground times. There are two underground stories that are really good. Basically the same characters are in the books. The Underground stories are "The Runaway Quilt" and "The Lost Quilter" based ont he same person - Joanna. You have to read her books from first book to the last book, which should be out very shortly. I have it reserved at the library for me. You can take out CD audiobooks from the library - at ours it is three weeks. And if your local library doesn't carry the books/audiobooks, there is a link that can get it for you. I am in Minnesota and our link is Mnlink and I can get audiobooks from all over the state of Minnesota, Wisconsin, I have gotten them from South Dakota. So someplace along the way, they are available. I learn a lot from Jennifer Chiaverini's books also. She has quilting design books out, recipes from the books (there is a quilting retreat in the books). You gotta read them.

I am talking too much. Edie 8)

My computer is in my sewing area. It is a teeny little area in the front room of our home and I have a little cutting table, my ironing board is my sewing machine table, my planning table. My computer is on a desk just a rolling chair away from my ironing board. I can watch the birds at the feeder out the window, the cars going by, the people watching their dogs. On the cutting table is my lamp and my cd player. And a jar of Good and Fruity candy. Hey, my whole world is in here. I have a filing cabinet that holds all of our personal papers and an area for my quilting patterns, books, etc. I have 13 plastic shoe boxes that I keep my fabric in, by color, so I have a lot of stuff in a pretty darn compact area. But it works. I have even got a little area in which to keep my water bottle, can of pop or glass of wine - it is called a window sill. So, I also utilize what is already there. Anyhow, MY QUILT - MY RULES! So that's my little corner of the world. Edie PS = What is QNNN - is that a cable channel. We don't have it, but please to tell me about it!!!!

    Edie,
QNNTV.com is a website that you can subscribe to--not sure how much it costs anymore. (again I'm not a member, this is just what I've heard from others and advertisements)
Supposedly a member can watch a variety of quilting shows online, not sure if they are commercial free or not.

I'm sure someone else on the QB is a member and can chime in with more details.

Thanks Rose for that info. I just got into that Qnntv and its $24 a year or
$39.95 a year depending on what you want.
I'll check more into later. To bad there isn't a free 1 on the t.v. like all the sports channels

I record several quilting shows which I like to listen to while I sew...

That way I can look up from my work at the TV and note, "So it IS possible..." and keep on trying!

I have a favorite CD I listen to while sewing and quilting.

It's called Jerusalem Arise!, by Paul Wilbur.

    Awesome worship music.

I put it on repeat while I am in my sewing room.

    Great inspiration for me.

Honestly I love the idea of listening to music while you quilt...especially something that speaks to you....But I have 4 kids, and non stop noise in my house..so when i am quilting, what I like to listen to is the quiet hum of my machine, and the rusteling of fabric...due to being hard of hearing, i focus better when it is quiet.
