Default What is your favorite Scrappy quilt

Please share your favorite scrappy quilt!
I am a newbie but have already accumulated a lot of scraps. So, about every couple of months, I make a scrappy quilt. The rule is that I can't purchase anything new but I can use anything on hand. My most recent was the D9P scrappy I posted last week. I made the blue squares small to increase the number of fabrics used and allow me to use smaller scraps (4 inch squares). So, I am always looking for scrappy ideas.

I am a huge fan of Log Cabins for scrappy. It is a block that has soo many posibilites for the final block layout. .. but the barn raising lay out seems to be my favorite.

My favorite is the log cabin also, and my favorite of those is The Snake River. It is so beautiful and uses up a ton of scraps. Afriend of mine just finished one and it is awesome.

My favorite scrappy quilts are a square in a square sashed with black. I put all sorts of wild combinations together and even put some together that clash. The ones that clash make it really vibrant but they blend in really well.

I like anything scrappy. I love the books and patterns by Lynn Roddy Brown and learned a lot about color combinations and values. Here's one that's a work in progress (for awhile now) that's a lot of fun.

I also like anything that Bonnie Hunter does at Quiltville.com.

Also, I made a "crumb" quilt recently and posted pictures at http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...p-t183509.html

I love scrappy quilts! I am so jealous. I don't have scraps yet. I am making my first quilt now and have only sewn a few other things. One day I will have scraps! Can't wait. Anyone made a "scrappy" quilt using perfectly new fabric??? I do have some fabric, I have started building a small stash since I decided to try quilting. Just no scraps yet. I am not patient I want to do one now!

Lots of people do scrappy quilts with newly purchased fabrics.

As a way to build your scrap stash ... buy more than you need for all your projects!
