Sewnoma...I'm the same way. I dress so plain. I love orange and teal together! Go with a khaki background...another wierdo color that I love.

I recently made a lap quilt in reds, purples and neutral background.........."Red Hat Lady" idea. Folks thought me crazy but now, not so much and the lady that received it loves it.

Also made a baby quilt in the colors of grey, yellow and turquoise, thought those a bit odd but once made, loved it.

I didn't like orange, look terrible in orange, have no orange around me, but LOVE it in quilts. MOF, I have made three where that was the predominant color. Also ditto for lime green, my complexion will look green anywhere around it, but love it in quilts and have used it quite a bit. Fortunately have two granddaughters who love lime green and orange and I can quilt to my heart's content. The most unfavorite color in a poll at the local guild was ORANGE!

I also love to add a bit of lime green, and while orange is most definitely not one of my favorite colors, I love what it does for other colors. In fact, I'm working on a scrappy string quilt and when I realized that I didn't have any orange, I went out and bought two half yard pieces, just so I could turn them into "scrappy strings".

That raised some eyebrows in my house, where everyone knows how I feel about orange!

Lime green, creamsicle (orange/white blend), fushia, turquoise, cotton candy blue, dark chocolate, cherry red. Carnival colors!

Well, somewhere I have a picture of the top all finished...it's been just a top for about a year now!

I called this the "ugly quilt" for quite awhile but it grew on me over time.

I like a pop of black and white together in a quilt. Black is also nice, but mostly I mean black and white together, such as black and white striped binding, or black and white polka dot sashing, etc. It adds a lot of zip.

I just received a flower bouquet with bright orange roses, light orange and gold small lilies, and Siberian purple irises, against a lot of green and yellow green foliage. I seldom use orange, but the colors together make me want to create something special with that color palate.
