Love to cut and piece and bind etc....love all except the actual quilting. I've never admitted this publicly (smile!). My FAVORITE part is planning that perfect quilt pattern for some gorgeous fabric, which has me all inspired. Now , what I really need is a troupe to finish what I've started, but not finished!

I use spray to baste my quilts. Soooooo much easier to spray baste. Also, fusible batting is great. You can get these at LQS or JoAnn , Hobby Lobby, or Hancock.

Rotary cutting. Not a problem until dizziness and bad eyesight said otherwise.

On the other hand, cutting small pieces with scissors, all old school like, is kind of fun.

 I did...I do LA quilting and I also baste the sandwich for those who are hand quilting or quilting on their DSM. Takes a couple of hours to baste a full-sized quilt, with pinning it on the leaders, but my back never gets sore, nor do my knees!!!

My least favorite part is sandwiching the 3 layers and pinning them together. I only have one leg so have to do it crawling around on the floor. I find it very hard to get everything taut and wrinkle free. Especially on very big quilts.

You do not have to do that any more there is a sheet that you put on your machine bed and just follow the lines, it is called
"Clearly Perfect Angles" I bought it at a quilt shop and it have
saved me hundreds of hours. I love it.

I agree with sewTinker. Cutting the fabric is the worst for me. No matter how careful I am making sure everything is lined up straight, the blocks come out just a tiny bit uneven. Maybe, I just need to stop being a perfectionist. My husband tells me that, yet he is one, too.

Wouldn't that be wonderful. Planning and designing are the fun parts.
