My favorite is "American Patchwork & Quilting" by Better Homes and Gardens. I have been inspired to actually make 4 quilts from this magazine. I also subscribe to Quilters News Letter (just like my Mom did) but most of what they display is way too advanced for me.

I like McCall's and McCall's Quick Quilts. I've tried several others but those are my favorites. I don't think I'm going to take subscriptions any more though. I find something in about every 3rd magazine. I can go to Walmart and look through them, and then decide if there's enough there to justify buying it.

I really like Quiltmania and the Japanese Quilt Tsushin. They are pricey and sometimes hard to find, but I like their unusual spin and colors on many traditional blocks.

The Japanese Magazine always has such great pictures and illustrations that make it pretty straight forward to follow them. And their applique patterns are gorgeous.

I like all of them. It is hard to pick a favorite, it is probably the one that I received in the mail on any given day.

I have found each sub. is a little different, so it depends on what you are looking for: patterns, instructions, art etc. But beware: you can sub. but be sure to count your issues. I have been shorted by several companies, one even tred to short me a year. I no longer sub. for more than one year and wait until the very last minute to re-sub. Go the the Lib. or a book store and check out all the issues available and then make up your mind.
