Strange...if you are designing your own, you should have pattern in mind for those swatches or it is not your "design" or do you just mean you want to use those swatches in your next quilt but don't know what pattern would work the best for them? So many books and mags to look thru for ideas.......

The only way I can see these two combos in a single quilt would be a Dresden Plate quilt. The first group I don't think the dots fits with the others. I love the second group and could see many possibilities for the group of fabrics together.

Is this for a challenge quilt or what?

I like the top row - MINUS the multicolored dots - by itself

I like the bottom row - MINUS the gray paisley - by itself -

I would like the white, solids, and the dots from the top row together.

Is this a test to see if all the responses will be "it's your quilt - whatever you want to do will be wonderful" ??

    Love that paisley!
I agree, but I'd suggest that you find a lime green to replace the gray paisley in the second row.

No challenge. My idea was to observe how different people react to the same color combinations :-) It has been an interesting and worthwhile exercise, particularly because I am new to this. Thank you for all your responses!!! Sometimes, I start with a pattern but then a lot of times I am just inspired by fabric and choose a design accordingly. And then sometimes, I just like to play with fabric (my favorite part) - trying out a technique or a pattern and it results into something.
